Text Box: Scott Napoli              Is originally from Milwaukee , Wisconsin , where he started his professional career at the age of fourteen. Scott performed in clubs under the tutelage of many nationally known musicians such as Melvin Rhyne, Buddy Montgomery, Berkley Fudge and Manty Ellis, while furthering his academic studies at the Wisconsin Conservatory where he received a bachelor's degree in percussion.

A fter moving to New York in 1983, Scott has been very active performing, teaching and furthering his academic studies. Most recently he received a Masters Degree with a concentration in composition and arranging from the Aaron Copland School of Music and studied with the renowned composer Jimmy Heath.

S cott is an imaginative drummer and composer who has been busy in and around New York and the East coast. As a sideman his talents have been sought after by such legendary performers as Junior Cook, Eddie Henderson, Ira Sullivan, Mose Allison, Al Cohn, Ralph Moore, John Abercrombie, Charles Davis and many others.

He has performed in almost every music setting from Jazz Clubs, Concerts, Festivals, T.V. Orchestras and live Theatre. Most recently performing in the Duke Ellington, Isn't it Romantic and Fire on the Bayou shows with the Milwaukee Repertory Company. His band has performed at several of Milwaukee and regional concert venues such as the Lake front Festival of the Arts, 3 rd Ward Jazz Festival, Gengler Park Jazz series and the Cedarburg Cultural Center .

H is first CD As a leader “Everything's Cool” was released in June 2003 and has received rave reviews. It features Criss Cross recording artists Ralph Lalama on Tenor Saxophone and Flute and Joe Magnarelli on Trumpet. Together they have performed at several clubs and concerts throughout the New York and the East Coast. His second CD “Vertigo” will be releases in the fall of 2010. He is also active touring and teaching in Japan where his music has been well received.

S cott is also an enthusiastic teacher. For 17 years he was a faculty member at the Brooklyn Conservatory, teaching Jazz Ensembles, Percussion, rhythm workshops and seminars to children and adults throughout the country.

H e has recently moved to Milwaukee where he continues to educate with Milwaukee youth symphony orchestra jazz studies, Elementary music at St. Josaphat parish school, seminars, workshops and private drum instruction. He performs every Thursday at the Mason Street Grill as well as other clubs and concerts with his own band and as a sideman, here and throughout the country.
